Abstract
10 male albino rats were run 30 trials daily in a 10-ft. alley for water reinforcement (¼ cc. per trial) in an attempt to confirm earlier findings of inhibition with reinforcement, i.e., failure to run even though reinforcement is available and motivation is high. After 66 days no S reached the non-running criterion whereas all of Kendrick's (1958) Ss failed to run after an average of 33 days. Failure of Kendrick's Ss to run was discussed in terms of possible genetic and environmental artifacts.
