Abstract
The relations between Ss' own stated heights, the perceived heights of their 3 closest friends, and personality variables were examined. Ss ( N = 173) showed a tendency to select friends closer to their own stated heights than would have been expected by chance. EPPS dominance and abasement need percentile scores (from a subsample of N = 38) were unrelated to Ss' stated heights or difference scores between Ss' and friends' stated heights.
