Abstract
For 127 adolescent boys and 149 girls, correlations of subjective ratings for “physical appeal” and “good-looking” with scores on Dean's Alienation Scale and an 18-item self-survey, showed self-judgments, but not objective judgments, of appearance were associated with some forms of social alienation, especially over-all alienation and powerlessness.
