Abstract
Data from a study by Dymond (1954) which showed personality differences between groups of happily and unhappily married couples are reanalyzed in terms of social desirability (SD). The happy and unhappy groups are shown to have mean rates of SD responding of .73 and .46, respectively ( t = 12.095, p < .0001, df = 14).
