Abstract
Pain is a part of an athlete's experience. Interventions for nagging minor injuries occurring during training and competition are not reported in the literature. A simple pain-control technique was used to ascertain its effect on minor pain. The intervention significantly reduced reported pain among college-age athletes and a group of nonathletes. Recommendations for research and practical application ate discussed.
