Abstract
This paper describes certain quantitative approaches to the study of diseases of involuntary movement. Such movements are examined in the context of a simple tracking task in which the elasticity ( K), electromagnetic damping ( B), and inertia ( J) of the control-stick are systematically varied. While the study is limited, it does indicate one means by which analytical procedures may be brought to bear constructively on a problem of clinical importance.
