Abstract
135 Ss from the general community were given Trodahl and Powell's shortened dogmatism scale and a scale which measured attitudes toward law and order. As predicted, high-dogmatics were significantly more favorable to a law-order position than low-dogmatics. This was interpreted as resulting from the tendency of the highly dogmatic person to accept noncritically value-judgments espoused by legitimate authority figures.
