Paired-Associate CVC Learning with Varied m′ in Schizophrenic Patients

Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between speed of acquisition in a paired-associate CVC learning task and scaled meaningfulness ( m′) in schizophrenic Ss. 12 male Ss practiced on 3 lists (low, medium, and high m′ level) of 10 S-R pairs each. The findings indicate that rate of acquisition is a positive function of increasing m′ in schizophrenic Ss.
