Abstract
The relationship between performance in the 1976 Skylon International Marathon and Rotter's internal-external locus of control measure was investigated using 97 male participants in the race. There were no significant differences between finishers and non-finishers in the I-E scores. Among the finishers, there was a small but significant correlation between internality and finish time. Finish time also correlated with number of previous marathons.
