Abstract
Popular belief is that work stress spills over into the family domain, but this study, using a new measure of relationship stress, provides evidence that the opposite effect also can and does occur. Locus of control, specifically strength of belief in powerful others, was related to organizational stress, but not to stress in a primary relationship.
