Reliability and Validity of the Lifestyle Exercise Inventory

Abstract

A Lifestyle Exercise Inventory based on the Theoretical Pattern of Physical Activity Model has been developed. To assess the inventory's internal reliability and examine its concurrent validity, a sample of 108 women completed the measure along with two well-established indices of physical activity. The inventory showed satisfactory internal reliability (Cronbach alpha = .73) and equivocal results with regard to concurrent validity ( r = .30, r = .08).
