Abstract
A previous report of a bias to list distant past experiences first and distant future experiences last was replicated with 62 undergraduates. Negative correlations (-.38 to -.46) between the number of past and future experiences support the bidirectional model; however, the prediction of distant future experiences by distant past, near past, present, and by near future experiences suggests that temporal orientation is related primarily to the number of goals in the distant future.
