Abstract
The present study assessed the relationship between a tension trait and intensity of language in counterattitudinal encoding. A positive but negligible correlation coefficient of .13 was obtained. This finding suggested that predispositions which indicate a generalized tenseness are only minimally related to the intensity of language in the counterattitudinal encoding of messages.
