Abstract
159 photographs of individuals presented in The Atlas of Men were measured and these data were factor analyzed. Also three stepwise regression analyses of Sheldon's somatotypes and the first three major factors, linearity, fat, and muscularity, were calculated. Similarities and differences among various methods of “body typing” were discussed, and plans for research presented.
