Synthesis and characterization of dicarboxamide derivative: Cu+2 selective turn‐on fluorometric and colorimetric chemosensor

Abstract

AbstractThe detection of Cu+2 ion chemically is crucial for both the biological and environmental systems. In this study, fluorescent active pyridine‐based diamide thiazole derivative chemosensor N2,N6‐bis(2‐(benzothiazol‐2‐yl)phenyl)pyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxamide (3) was synthesized and characterized successfully. Fluorometric and colorimetric chemosensor properties and the fluorescent selectivity and sensitivity of different metal ions were determined in DMSO/H2O (50:50) medium by using fluorescence spectroscopy. The chemosensor 3 exhibited turn on fluorometric and colorimetric selectivity toward Cu+2 metal.
