Abstract

AbstractHydrogenated pyrans are prevalent structural units existed in many biologically active compounds, capturing the attention of pharmacologists due to their potential therapeutic applications. Among various synthetic routes, the hetero‐Diels‐Alder (HDA) reaction stands out as a common and effective approach. The objective of this study was to employ HDA reaction in conjunction with the dehydrogenative oxidation strategy for saturated ketones to synthesize hydrogenated pyran compounds. Through systematic screening and optimization of reaction conditions, a convenient approach for the synthesis of multi‐substituted 2,3‐dihydro‐4H‐pyran compounds has been developed. Furthermore, a detailed mechanistic investigation has been performed to get a deep understanding of the reaction.
