As the majority of the work presented is on chain extended crystals, and when folds are present they are known to be primarily tight, it is not unreasonable to consider the crystal as a single component. Further, it is very unlikely that there would be any cocrystallization of the alkane and the toluene in the temperature ranges that we are using.
