Abstract
AbstractThe objective of present research work is to investigate the propagation of time harmonic plane waves in a rotating, nonlocal, transversely isotropic thermoelastic half‐space having void pores in the context of Lord–Shulman theory. It has been observed that four coupled plane waves travel in such type of medium with distinct speeds. Using appropriate boundary conditions, the amplitude and energy ratios for the reflected waves are presented. Numerical computations for a magnesium crystal‐like material are performed with the help of MATLAB software to study the effects of material anisotropy, nonlocal, void and rotation parameters on the amplitude ratios. The computational results are displayed and explained through graphs. The phase velocities of plane waves in transversely isotropic medium are found to depend upon the incident angle, whereas these attain constant values in an isotropic medium. The energy conservation law is also justified during the reflection phenomena.
