Abstract
ABSTRACTThis paper proposes a novel control method to achieve the true unity power factor for a single‐phase boost rectifier. Firstly, the phase difference between the voltage and current on the AC side is calculated by the heterodyne method. Secondly, this phase difference is fed into an integral regulator to get a phase shift angle. Finally, by using the heterodyne method once again, the AC side current is phase‐shifted and used as the modulation signal for the single‐phase full bridge rectifier circuit and ultimately yields a unity power factor. The experimental results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of this strategy.
