Abstract

AbstractA non‐enzymatic electrochemical sensor was to be developed for the detection of glucose by combining the features of a molecularly imprinted polymer, the high conductive nature of polyaniline, and hierarchical dendritic structures. To meet this aim, a bimetallic film‐coated graphite electrode was electropolymerized in the presence of aniline monomers to obtain a glucose‐imprinted bimetallic polymeric film‐coated electrode. The parameters affecting the electrodeposition were optimized using Minitab 19.1 software, and the mechanism of electrooxidation of glucose on the electrode surface was proposed. Electrochemical and morphological characterization of the fabricated electrode revealed its sensitivity toward millimolar amounts of glucose and showed higher selectivity in the presence of interfering species.
