Abstract
AbstractThe present study was aimed at eliminating CrVI from effluent streams by means of an emulsion liquid membrane generated by palm oil, Span 80 (surfactant), bis(2‐ethylhexyl) phosphate (carrier), and NaOH, used as an emulsion in the stripping phase. Jet mixing was used for homogenization and agitation of a continuous system for CrVI removal. The effects of process parameters such as carrier concentration, pH, and internal phase concentration on the transfer of CrVI from the internal to the membrane phase were studied. The results from batch studies were analyzed and incorporated in the continuous process.
