Abstract
AbstractA 12‐year‐old, neutered female, Labrador Retriever was referred to the Willows Veterinary Centre & Referral Service with a history of an oral mass adjacent and distal to 309 causing odynophagia. Biopsy of the mass resulted in an oral fibrosarcoma, which was subsequently removed via mandibular rim excision. Histology of the excised mandible confirmed removal with tumour‐free margins. Two months after surgery, the dog presented again with a 1.5 cm diameter pedunculated soft tissue lesion that had formed at the same location. Excision and histological examination confirmed a sialocoele, likely due to iatrogenic damage to a minor salivary gland of the oral cavity. Two years following the second surgery, no recurrence of the fibrosarcoma or the sialocoele was documented.
