Abstract

Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) is an important image quality metric. Traditional displays generate images on a flat display, whereas Near‐Eye‐Displays (NEDs) project virtual images with amplitude and wave‐front phase information. Poorly designed NED MTF test systems can introduce uncorrectable measurement errors, in contrast to well‐designed systems with aberration‐free optical performance.
