Abstract

AbstractThe interaction between diamond surfaces and alkali metals was studied experimentally and computationally. Li reacted with diamond above 600°C and significant etching of (100) surface was observed. An attempt was made to apply this etching reaction for electrical discharge machining of diamond tools.
