Abstract

Abstract A prospective study of 14 consecutive patients with parotid injuries treated over a 4-month period, is presented. Three patients underwent emergency duct repair and 11 patients, presenting with delayed fistulae or subcutaneous collections of saliva (sialoceles), were treated conservatively with uniform success. Glandular injury closed within an average of 5 days of treatment and ductal leaks within approximately 14 days.
