Abstract

Abstract Twenty-six cases of liver trauma admitted to Addenbrooke's Hospital between 1971 and 1981 are reported. They are assessed according to the grade of liver damage, and a policy of management of liver trauma is proposed. A case is made for the use of packing under certain defined conditions.
