Abstract
Abstract
A review of 151 partial or total amputations of the finger is presented. Emphasis is placed on the incidence of postoperative tenderness and the time taken off work by patients suffering digital amputation. It is concluded that in patients who, following injury, require digital amputation the best results aye obtained by early primary proximal reamputation and the avoidance, where possible, of skin grafting.
