Abstract
Abstract
A patient with a histologically unusual carcinoma of the colon had a successful surgical resection and primary anastomosis. The tumour showed certain squamous features. It is doubtful if any of the previously reported cases of „squamous carcinoma”︁ represents more than squamous metaplasia with variable degrees of differentiation in existing adenocarcinomas.
To find „squamous”︁ malignant tissue in the colon is not necessarily to imply that the tumour is metastatic or inoperable.
