Abstract
Summary
Anastomotic integrity after a low colorectal EEA-stapled anastomosis performed for cancer was assessed by a contrast enema in 30 patients. There was an overall 20 per cent radiological anastomotic leakage rate. The leakage rate in the last 10 cases, however, was zero. This indicates that increased familiarity with the technique results in fewer complications.
