Small-vessel thrombosis following vascular injury: Successful treatment with a low-dose intra-arterial infusion of streptokinase

Abstract

Abstract Streptokinase may cause excessive haemorrhage if administered systemically in the presence of vascular injury. A patient in this situation was treated with a low dose of streptokinase administered intra-arterially. Using this régime there was little evidence of systemic activation and insignificant bleeding, but there was satisfactory dissolution of the occlusive thrombus.
