Abstract
Abstract
No uptake of tritiated thymidine was observed in the chief and parietal cells of normal mice. When mice, labelled with tritiated thymidine while normal, recovered from irradiation gastritis, the radioactive index of the specialized cells increased to 10 per cent. It is concluded that in regenerating mucosa, chief and parietal cells are derived directly or indirectly from mucous neck cells.
