Abstract
Abstract
The problem of bronchieetasis, its etiology, pathology, and treatment, has held the interest and attention of clinician and pathologist alike for many years. Laennee1 (1826) was probably the first to refer to this condition. The next important contribution to the subject was that of Corrigan2 (1838), who, in a paper on cirrhosis of the lung, reported four cases. He considered the disease to be primarily a fibrosis of the lung with dilatation of the bronchi produced by traction of the scar tissue.
