Abstract
AbstractThe electrochemical C(sp2)‐H abstraction of hydrazones to produce 1,2,4‐triazol‐3‐ones as an appealing pathway has considerable value. By the patronage of electricity current, instead of unconventional methods, we reveal an electrochemical detour for furnishing 1,2,4‐triazol‐3‐ones by electrochemical activation of hydrazones for further reaction with potassium isocyanate. This method also powers by a new chemical synthetic alternative pathway. This strategy provides a suitable condition for the synthesis of 1,2,4‐triazol‐3‐ones with various functional groups in moderate to good efficiency and amenable to gram‐scale synthesis. The electrochemical and chemical oxidation condition also proves a superb level of selectivity and compatibility with preparing 1,2,4‐triazol‐3‐ones in these highly reactive conditions.
