Abstract

AbstractWe established a validated high‐performance liquid chromatography method utilizing Frovatriptan as a chiral derivatizing agent to separate the enantiomers of ketoprofen from commercially available tablet formulations. The chiral derivatizing agent facilitated the synthesis of diastereomeric derivatives of ketoprofen, which were separated on a reversed‐phase C18 column using a mobile phase composed of acetonitrile and 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid under gradient elution from 30% to 70% of acetonitrile. The method demonstrated a limit of detection and quantitation of 2.52 and 8.31 ng/ml for the derivatives, respectively. Validation of the method was performed following the guidelines set by the International Council for Harmonisation to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability, making it suitable for pharmaceutical industry applications. Notably, this study introduces the novel application of Frovatriptan as a chiral derivatizing agent in high‐performance liquid chromatography for the separation of ketoprofen enantiomers.
