Erythroderma in an infant from a traditional alternative remedy

Abstract

AbstractA 3‐month‐old boy with pre‐existent atopic dermatitis presented erythroderma and an agitated state shortly after immersion in bath water containing wood ash. Acute irritant dermatitis leading to erythroderma caused by wet ashes is uncommon. The use of alternative remedies for children with atopic dermatitis is discouraged because of potential severe irritation.
