Abstract
AbstractAcute appendicitis (AA) in pediatric patients with acute leukemia mandates prompt treatment. Diagnosis presents challenges, relying on clinical and radiological assessments, often leading to treatment delays that may disrupt leukemia management. Our study on 14 such cases underscores the pivotal role of swift intervention. While conservative AA treatment may pose no risk to healthy children, our findings mandate the performance of laparoscopic appendectomy within 24 hours of diagnosis. This strategy yielded successful surgical outcomes while ensuring uninterrupted leukemia care. Our experience contributes important insights to the limited understanding of navigating this complex clinical scenario.
