Abstract

In this paper, we summarize the various opportunities and challenges in Photopolymer based VHG optical waveguides. By comparing with SRG, we analyzed the advantages of VHG in rainbow effect and eye glow in principle. Besides, we list the challenges faced by VHGs such as grating vector testing, shrinkage effect, light leakage, and material absorption, and give some of the solutions as well as possible solution ideas. The solution of the above challenges will provide new theoretical and technical support for the practicalization of VHG optical waveguides.
