Abstract
AbstractA 7‐year 6‐month‐old, male, neutered Shih Tzu had an oesophagostomy tube placed for nutritional support following surgery for management of extrahepatic biliary obstruction secondary to cholelithiasis. The oesophagostomy tube was removed 1 week following surgery, with no abnormalities noted. The dog re‐presented 7 months later with a persistent discharge at the previous stoma site. This was diagnosed as an oesophagocutaneous fistula following oesophagoscopy and ultrasound examination. The fistula was closed surgically, and the dog made a full recovery.
