Abstract

AbstractA simple gradient model of turbulence diffusion is suggested that takes into account an external turbulence. The calculations by this model confirm that the mean shear stress influences the turbulence production and does not substantially influence the diffusion. The model is tested for the flow behind two parallel grids separated by the blade and the results of calculations are compared with experiments.
