P‐5.27: Outdoor 55‐Inch 4K‐resolution and High‐Brightness Liquid Crystal Display

Abstract

This work addresses the design and verification of an outdoor 55‐inch 4K‐resolution and high‐brightness liquid crystal display (LCD) product. The new pixel design is able to increase the module transmittance to as high as 6.24%. The amorphous silicon (a‐Si) thin film transistor (TFT) has excellent light‐ and temperature‐stability. The gate drive circuit has been improved to reduce the operating temperature by 5~7 ℃. The brightness of the display is up to 4056 nits, which is the brightest known 55‐inch 4K‐resolution display product.
