Abstract

With the frequent occurrence of disasters and accidents, as well as the rapid development of virtual reality technology, the immersive experience brought by virtual reality technology provides innovative solutions for the rescue field. This article reviews the development history and research status of virtual reality in the field of rescue, introduces the application of virtual reality technology in simulating disaster scenarios, training rescue personnel, and improving decision‐making efficiency in earthquake, fire, and mine rescue, and emphasizes the advantages of virtual reality technology in the rescue field. Finally, the prospects of virtual reality technology in the field of rescue were discussed.
