Abstract
SummaryThe wavelet transform (WT) is a widely used technique for compressing images in the Internet of Things (IoT). However, its compression ratio (CR) needs further improvement when used for IoTs with low communication rates. To address this issue, we propose a lightweight image compression method that combines the WT and number theory transform (NTT). The simulations demonstrate that the proposed method surpasses traditional compression methods in terms of achieving a good balance between CR, image recovery quality, and complexity. Therefore, it is better suited for IoT applications with low transmission rate requirements.
