Abstract
AbstractUp to 94.3\% of children with ASD exhibit one or more challenging behaviors. Researchers have developed a technology for functional behavior assessment and function‐based intervention. The integration of this technology with achieving valued outcomes in people with disabilities such as ASD is known as positive behavior support. PBS is a comprehensive intervention approach that aims to reduce the challenging behaviors while simultaneously promoting social and communication integration, acquisition of functional skills, and greater self‐control. Reviewers have identified evidence‐based interventions for managing stereotypic, self‐injurious, aggressive, and other challenging behaviors in individuals with ASD.
