Abstract
This entry focuses on the significance of race and ethnicity in relation to COVID‐19, and in particular on the disparities faced during the pandemic by racial and ethnic minorities in the United Kingdom and the United States. Empirical research into physical health, mental health, and engagement in preventive behaviors in the context of COVID‐19 is discussed. Some of the main social psychological factors that appear to contribute to racial and ethnic disparities in relation to COVID‐19 are also highlighted.
