Abstract
Vaccine hesitancy entails being conflicted about, or opposed to, getting vaccinated. It is ranked as a major global health threat. Relationships between vaccine hesitancy and sociodemographic characteristics (such as age, gender, and ethnicity) vary over time and by disease type. Identity resilience, fear, risk, and mistrust also shape vaccine hesitancy.
