Abstract
AbstractThe isotopic dilution method is applied to study the influence of intermolecular vibrational relaxation on the IR correlation functions of some absorption bands of CH2Cl2, CHCl3 und CDCl3. The temperature dependent isotopic dilution effect is explained on the basis of intermolecular transition dipole‐transition dipole interaction, modulated by molecular reorientation. For these system a priori separation of independent rotational and vibrational correlation functions is not permitted according to the experimental results.
