Abstract
AbstractThe application of the diffusional relaxation process, called Gorsky effect, on hydrogen‐metal systems is reviewed. A transport property, namely the diffusion coefficient of hydrogen and its isotopes in metals, and an equilibrium property, namely the derivative of the chemical potential of the solutes relative to the density, ∂μ/∂ρ, can be determined from Gorsky‐relaxation measurements. A survey on experiments performed up to the present, and their results is given.
