Incorporating implementation science principles into curricular design

Abstract

AbstractImplementation science (IS) is an approach focused on increasing the application of evidence‐based health interventions into practice, through purposive and thoughtful planning to maximize uptake, scalability, and sustainability. Many of these principles can be readily applied to medical education, to help augment traditional approaches to curriculum design. In this paper, we summarize key components of IS with an emphasis on application to the medical educator.
