Abstract
Abstract
Metallocenes are organometallic sandwich complexes that have been used in or investigated for multiple application fields, such as chemical intermediates, antiknock additives to gasoline, lubricants or anti‐cancer agents. The main application of metallocenes, however, is the use as catalysts during plastic production. Due to the widespread applications and increasing plastic production interest increased on potential health effects induced by metallocenes. The chapter describes commonly used metallocenes and summarizes available toxicological data and assessments.
