The only additional work thus far recorded in the literature on compounds having this ring system concerns four derivatives of 6,7-dihydro-5H-pyrrolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine mentioned in a communication by J. P. Cavalla , Tetrahedron Letters, 2807 (1964). These compounds were methylated at position-6 and carried one or two methyl groups at position-7. 4-Amino, 2,4-diamino and 4-amino-2-mercapto derivatives were represented.
